"Enhanced Metadata" containing info from the "3 Axis internal motion sensor," coupled with “Touch Focus Tracking with electronic lens mounts and RED Touchscreen;" seems like matchmoving is just about to become automated:)

Rollover Battery Power sounds like AT&T rollover minutes; maybe they've got an internal battery (ie: clock battery) that can store the last of the interchangeable batteries' juice so you can swap out all batteries and have it running seemingly "battery-less" for a moment while you do so.

Am I understanding this correctly: RED gives everyone one (1) month to decide which stage they want (if they want) to upgrade and if you don't have the money after that one month then you've lost your opportunity to upgrade? So basically I'll have about a month to find $10.500, $19.500 or $28.000 respectively?

I better start saving up money NOW, then!

thats not how i read it.

Forum is getting pummeled so hard on traffic, I am having trouble surfing it.

At what point will Canon mounts be ready? In which stage?

I just tweaked the server a little so things should be running a bit better.

The Canon and Nikon mounts are both currently functional....

Thank you Jim and Jarred and the Red Team.

So before the announcement I was like "The scarlet S35 is coming soon but I don't know when and at what price." and after the announcement I am like "The scarlet S35 is coming soon but I don't know when and at what price."

Hmmm... What just happened?

Hopefully right out of the gate. I could see just getting a Canon mount and using an adaptor to go from Nikon mount to the Canon mount. The PL style mount is going to rock.

Is there a rough target for the number of Stage One Tattoo program cameras / testers?

Cheers - #19

Ditto, I asked it twice, question keeps getting buried in the noise. How many Tattoos? 25? 50? 500?

thats not how i read it.

It says "A RED ONE owner has one month after official notification to decide which stage option to select. If an option is not selected in that timeframe, the RED ONE owner will forfeit his trade-in allowance.". I don't see how that can be interpreted in any other way than the fact that you get one chance to decide whether or not you're in or out.

Hmm

Hmm

Yeah, I mean it sounds like there is lots of good stuff here for most people, and it sounds like RED is working super hard, I know I'm excited!

But for me, I just care about the 2/3" fixed Scarlet and the S35, so I don't feel really that I learned anything by the announcement except that neither are really that close. Somewhat close, maybe, but not that close.

I guess I'm hoping that I can get the fixed lens Scarlet in 3-5 months, that would be nice. Three months would be fantastic, five would be ok, wouldn't be super excited about that, but it'd be nice.

I think I have a lot of corporate work upcoming (hopefully) and would like to go with the Scarlet rather than the HVX200s for some of this work, but it's ok, the HVX200s will do a fine job for the time being and I'll be able to get even more use out of them. Then they will retire to rental only / backup only cameras.
