Does anyone else think that this is one of the most interesting times for the profession... think about it.
Red one, Canon, Scarlet/Epic (TBA) and Sony, JVC, Panasonic etc have all excelled in the past few years.
The NLE's have always followed suit with incredible developments. The plug-ins have been spot on and last but not least... the glass is so cristal and bokeh beautiful.
Thanks to all the providers for making storytelling so easy and interesting.

Wow, that Oct 29 deadline was a beast. It was stated the 30th would NOT be the red one cut off date, never thought it would be the 29th! Remember: Everything subject to change!

I can't see them selling another RED ONE now. If you can't upgrade it.

Panama, hoping there is a way to get into Beta on the Scarlet without owning a Red One...

Only 2 responses right now: WOW and THANKS!

If I was a 'playa' I would be definitely applying for the beta program. Man, what a sweet outfit!

I have to say though, that my heart skipped a beat when I got to the Release Order: Scarlet fixed & interchangeable are coming out right on top of the release list! WOO-HOOO!!

Now that is really awesome! RED is giving all the little guys with big dreams the big tools to play with the big boys! Imagine better-than-film quality in something you can actually afford to buy (not rent)! Something incredible is going to come of that, mark my words, I gee-ron-tee!

Thank you RED, from the bottom of my heart and the top of my dreams!

Chris

RED Mattebox is in production???????? Sweeeeeeet!!

Must be the adrenaline, I can't interpret the method/time frame in which one can choose their upgrade path. Do you as the owner decide, Oh, I can afford to upgrade, place your order and ten you have 30 days from "It's ready" to pay for it, or is Red going to say "NOW!" and we ha et 30(+) days to find the $$?

(To be clear, not complaining, lots of options and lots of extras for your $$$ as a Red One owner)

Dual CF module. Thanks! I suggested that a long time ago.

Disappointing to say the least. Scarlet remains a fantasy far, far away on the horizon. I guess it's time for me to let go of my Scarlet dreams and start considering cameras that actually exist. Maybe I'll revisit RED in the future, but for now, very disappointing. I guess it was a mistake to get too excited about this announcement.

You can keep working on cameras forever, making them better and better and delaying releases more and more, but it seems like a bad idea to keep getting people's hopes up, especially when you are establishing a new market with a lower-priced Scarlet.

How many Tattoos are being offered? That's an important fact.

I think that we should all be excited that the beta program should start in the next month or two. That's a hugely important step in all the models moving forward.

I'm also glad I'll have more time to save up for a 2/3" Scarlet. It's going to be amazing when it gets here.

Hmmm...re. Scarlet, many improvements - touch focus tracking sounds good (if it is what I think it is...), FLUT and increased data rate sound great, and gigabit ethernet is a definite win. More so if it's live, but I won't get my hopes up.

Interesting information so far, though waiting another month for all the info is kinda painful. I hope we will see some footage samples at 3k before we're done. Anyway, thanks to all at RED, it sounds like great work is going on.

Wow, i would love to be one of the lucky Tattoo testers. that would rock.

Whatever hapepned to "You can still qualify for EpicX after October 31. It would be unfair otherwise."

Is the $950 "side handle" the SLR grip with control and battery?
