Thanks for the clarification.

Does that mean I can switch between a Canon 17mm tilt shift lens for perspective correction, a Voigtlander 125mm macro lens (either Canon or Nikon mount) for, well, macro shots, a Nikon 14-24mm G zoom for wide angle coverage, Leica R 90mm Summicron with a Canon adapter for talent close-ups, a set of regular cine primes like RPP and an Angenieux 10:1 HR zoom for telephoto on the fly?

It's a good news. That's exactly what I need.

Yes, and the best part, NO MORE SHIMS.

They developed a way to micro adjust back focus without shims!

Medicine has made great strides: in my case, the eye patch was a great leap forward from the previous treatment (bashing a hole in the patient's skull to let the evil spirits out). :smash:

Oh man, we have evil spirits in our head!!! That explains everything :reddevil:

Nobody is going to let my evil spirits out. Not going to happen, won't let ya... I like them right where they are.

The irony here is that I am right-handed, but I always compose with my left eye when I use DSLR. Many of my friends have noticed this and laugh about it (in a good way)...

 Peter

As a longtime competitive shooter of shotguns and pistols, I can share that "eye dominance" does not always follow "hand dominance". Just the same as a baseball player may throw right and bat left, photographers may find a preference for one eye over the other when looking through the viewfinder.

One may determine their eye dominance by holding the thumb at arm's length toward a spot on the wall. Alternately closing and opening each eye will present a "shift" in the focal point for one eye while remaining constant with the other eye. The constant eye is the dominant one.

With repetitive use and emphasis on the non-dominant eye (ie: wearing a patch over the dominant eye or using the non-dominant eye to view through the finder,) one can motivate dominance to change to the other eye.

Hi, is the first time I write here, but I follow your "adventure" from the start. I have a question: how many scarlet can I control with redmote? Can I control zoom, rec and focus (in 2/3 fixed) simultaneously on, for example, 10 cams?
Thank you!

funny.. somehow i have just learned to adapt... i couldn't imagine composing with my left eye.

I basically do anything that involves the word "shoot" right-handed anyways.

scissors on the other hand.... some of 'em are just evil

Ah, the eye-patch. I have a vivid early childhood memory of going to Happy Acres nursery camp and walking dead hard into a tree. No telling how many door frames I slammed my shoulder into.

Ah, eye patch.

Jarred has confirmed that at least 6 Scarlets can be controlled with one REDmote. You may be able to control more but that is the highest number I have seen confirmed. Quote here: http://reduser.net/forum/showpost.php?p=483433&postcount=203

Unless this module needs the full RAW image in which case there is no means of getting an uncompressed RAW signal out of a brain. I wonder if the module interface is even capable of those data rates.

I suppose it could use the 10bit 1080p signal.

Well, it would have to be capable of those data rates in order to send the data to the recording modules.

No because the recording modules just need to be simple sata devices with custom drivers capable of transferring REDCode. I would be nearly 100% certain that no uncompressed raw video data is leaving the brain.

Although right-handed I use my left eye to compose.
Same here. Was pretty awkward in the military. Firing a rifle with my right hand whilst aiming with the left eye... had part of the bloody rifle right in my face. Bruised a few times from kickback...

I'm right eyed and right handed, but my vision is 20/400 if you can believe that. :coolgleamA:

Hooray contacts!

Wow, thats crazy, I'm shocked that a contact can correct for that. You must see pretty much nothing out of that eye without the contact.

With Amblyopia you can't just use a lens to fix it because its a brain thing causing it not to use the eye correctly or choosing not to use the eye. Even with all the stuff i went though and finally get lasik it will never be as good as my left because the optic nerve never developed correctly because my brain was trying to turn it off. My right eye is kind of like SD while my left eye is like HD, not unsharp just not as munch information more fuzz.

Anywho....Yea I would almost expect Jim to be left handed thats why I asked. I'm not surprised that your left handed at all, Jarred. So Jim, are you left handed? :coolgleamA:

All they really need to do to help left eye shooters like us is make a 180 rotate mode for the EVF. The rest I feel like I can handle with available parts. I'm left handed, left eyed and after years of carrying irrigation pipes on my left shoulder I'm now definitely left shouldered. I'd love a camera that I can put on my left.

A simple switch hitter setup would also be great for long days of operating.

Cheers,

IBloom

...I think I got it confused. I thought the first 20 was near-sightedness and the second number was the far sightedness. Either way when I take my contacts out both of my eyes can barely see much of anything. Just blurs and shapes.

Ha! I'm very right handed and equaly left eyed to the point where I can't close my left eye independently. My optition calls it "cross-dominance" (No double-entendres here please!).
Funny thing my right eye tests somewhat sharper, also they have slightly different colour-balance, right eye sees a mono VF as slightly blue, the left as slightly yellow, emphasis on slight.
After correction my vision is a bit above average.
