"Epic ISO 200-8000"

1-Till what ISO is it useable (some what grainy) and what range will need noise reduction in post?

"Touch Focus Tracking” with electronic lens mounts and RED Touchscreen LCDs"

2-is this for all electronic (Canon Nikon) lenses or RED electronic only

"3 Axis internal motion sensor, built in GPS receiver"

3-Is this feature also available on the Scarlet FF35 S35
4-Can this meta data be extracted/used in 3D tracking software to help them solve the track (boujou Pftrack and upcoming NUKE 6)

VC??? At a long shot is that VOICE CONTROL???

Also i had an earlier question? How many 12volt outputs will there be on the Epic-X S35 to power accessories such as Cinetapes and MDR's/ LCS etc.. Will we still have the GPIO outs on the Pro I/O module?

Also on the R1 you have a 'D' tap power off the red battery mounts.

Will there be something simular on the Epic-X battery system?

And what of Rolling Shutter or global Shutter ? How is this done now ?

Id guess there are improvements here.

There is something in those renders of the RED Electronic FF lens that nobody has picked up yet.... something that is actually pretty incredible ( and a first )

I'll bite. So is it the switch labeled "VC"? The only other thing I can think of would be the distance scale on the barrel. But I don't know enough about lenses to know what either of those things would mean. I've never seen a lens distance scale layed out that way before.

It seems that in that Gunner configuration there is a motor attached somehow on the opposite side of the lens (could be way wrong here).

Could it be something like 'wc' as in wire control?

WC means something els in the UK ! Dont get calling it that ! but Wire Control would be good or Wireless control even better. Perhaps a 802.11 or bluetooth interface ?

Hi Jarred

Will be possible to european clients buy/upgrade and received items via pinewood (red europe)?
Fedex is so wrong on customs.

And also I see Red XL batteries :-)

So what is the capacity and expected run times. Also what is the mount ? Not V lock for sure....

So what can be done with the gigabit ethernet port?
Can I stream r3D files and control the camera. Say to a Red CCU/red rocket output to vision switch a multi camera shoot?

To everyone at Red:

Keep up the good work and don't burn yourselves out - you must all be working under an insane amount of pressure.

Looking forward to November 30.

Not thrilled about the 30 day window. Unlikely to have the money that fast, hard to even get a loan that fast. Please extend the window to six months (or even better, a year). At least then there's a chance at having the money ready.

I plan on getting it the first day I can.. however.. Im with you on this.. 30 days is pretty short term for someone to round up 19.5k for option 2

Thank you for the upgrade options! :emote_happyhappy: One suggestion:-

Instead of the 30 day window, how about allowing red owners who require more time to find the cash for the upgrade, to forgo their place in the queue (move to the back of the line, if necessary - provided they indicate how long they need – with say a 6 month or year cut off point).
Wouldn’t this work, as I imagine demand will outstrip supply initially? It will be sad if earlier serial numbers miss out on the upgrade option, because they can’t get things together quickly enough.

I am waiting again. Now for 30th November and some information about Scarlet. I hope we will see Scarlet in 2010 anyway even in the end of 2010. I just need to think what i will be doing during this once more year:)

I think what the Red Camera Company has done and continue to do is great and I congratulate them on their success and the ideology they have engendered.

Though today I found myself uncharacteristically questioning their approach and trying to understand why there needs to be so much rule making and such a convoluted consumer strategy? I am based in Australia and have followed and evangelized the Red One camera for several years now. Our dollar until just recently has been very poor relative to the US currency and the possibility of purchasing a Red One camera body has not been feasible to me.

I do not understand how a person who purchased (for the first time) a Red One Camera body 3 days ago (based on a tip off from a friend to act before the 30th) should be given a $5,000 epic-x trade-in advantage when a person who has been loyal to the Red cause for several years (but did not purchase a Red One camera due to economic reasons) should not be given that advantage. Moreover, speaking for myself, even though I did not purchase a Red One Camera body I have purchased what I can afford, such as Red lenses and other accessories building up to the purchase of a Red One camera body. Now I find myself excluded from the epic-x trade-in incentive because I could not make the deadline on the Red Camera body. I do not think this holds true to the notion that Red introduced the epic-x trade-in incentive to reward those who supported the company.

I don’t mean to be the voice of dissent in what is a very exciting time for most, but I felt that I needed to express my thoughts on this particular matter.

Thank you.
