  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Absolutely love this head.

That lens looks pretty good, too! Do I see some teleconverters at the back?

It's good, yeah, Sigma 150-600 Sport, and yes it has the matched TC1401 teleconverter. I wouldn't wholly recommend using the converter though - optical quality does suffer a little, and also knocks the aperture down to about f9, then you need to stop down a bit to get quality with any converter, so you're at about f11 = that doesn't give you a lot of room to maneuver as you're already past diffraction limit and getting towards the realms of dust showing up on the sensor. It's no substitute for either a Sigma 300-800, Canon 150-600 FD or Canon 50-1000 etc., but at a fraction of the cost and size it's a nice option.

And as always, the option to go down to zero counterbalance setting on the O'Connors means that you can use kit like this which would be too light for some other heads - many of the Sachtlers and others have a lowest counterbalance settings of around 6-9kg, so anything lighter will just spring back. With any of the O'Connors you can go from an iPhone to an Alexa with no problem!

Lol, I see now that you were talking about Phil's lens not mine! In which case, I second that, it does look great! In fact because I have the bigger head I think we should swap, the Fuji would be much better suited to my 2560 :)
