  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

O'Connor 2065

I think the 's' 1030 (both 1030s and 1030HDs) is between the 1030HD and 2060HD in terms of specs, as both 's' 1030 heads go an extra 10 lbs of rating. I use the 1030s and am very happy with it.

I wouldn't agree there, I think they're basically the same. When talking about spec you really need to use the weight of the unit as a baseline, you need this beef with larger gear and longer lenses, and it also gives you beefier internal components. All that the extra payload of the HDs and older S mean is that you have extra counterbalance.

Just received the first O'Connor 2065D, a fantastic piece of gear no doubt, too bad it shipped strait to my friend in China ;(
But ready to sale our second 2060HD to order a O'Connor 2065D, to be sure we have the Payload and Drag needed for
our S3D set up as well as cover us well with the Optimo 24-290, sporting the latest design and technological advancement of O'Connor Fluid Head.

Great Vid presentation btw Eric.

The weight of the head is certainly a consideration in light one or two man camera crews but the versatility of the 2575 is unmatched (I haven't tried a 2565 but it should be similar). When I switched up from a 1030S to my 2575c I thought I would be on Advil permanently, but in the end the shipping cases for my camera, Ronford F7 head and lenses weight the same or more. So the actual difference in pain is nill. As for Epic's lighter configuration it's probably just smart to add a truly light weight ENG tripod and head (Vinten, Miller or Sachtler) for those run and gun shoots since a significant amount of weight is in the cine legs anyway (standard + baby).
