Hello all,

Dropping this here as it has some pretty big ramifications for professional workflow and workstations in our industry. I was/am pretty fortunate to test out the new top end Blackwell GPU for several weeks before yesterday's announcement. In particular I tested R3D Workflows against the last two generations of 6000 series GPUs, Ada and Ampere. Also, specifically for transcoding at 8K or 6K as well as down to 4K and 2K to Apple ProRes and comparing it against clip duration. Useful for those who have to make dailies, proxies, or just large exports.

The short story is the new GPU is significantly faster overall across the board and also more capable for high resolution workflows.

A few graphs from REDCODE RAW 8K and 6K to Apple ProRes found in the brief writeup.
