Who is using the m6000 card?
Do you like it?
What programs are you running?
Would you prefer its performance over 2 or 3 GeForce cards?

I use m6000 on a hp z840. Love it, finding it especially useful on realtime 4K rendering because I can load complex meshes into its large RAM. I also use it to drive vr development, which also needs large gpu caches. Issue with the new nvidia stuff, which is awesome, is getting stable drivers that work on everything. Since 80% of the software I use is beta, I need a super stable gpu or I'd go insane.

Interesting. Why do you think that? And when about is that releasing?

The M6000 is basically a 900 series Titan X card. GPU acceleration is decided by the raw specs of the card. There is nothing specific to the Quadro cards that improvea performance for GPU acceleration ie realtime playback with those applications. A 1080GTX card performs as well as a Titan X which means it performs as well as a Quadro M6000. So why would you get a M6000 when you can get a the pascal Titan when it releases which should have far greater performance than the M6000 or a Titan X. Nvidia focused on GPU acceleration with the new Pascal cards. Hence why the 1080GTX performs so well. That is why you want to wait for the Pascal Titan. Release will probably be in the next couple of months based on Nvidia's normal release time frames.

Great insight! Thank you!

Whether or not the M6000 (or quadro in general) makes sense depends entirely on the use case. What is your use case?

I think you'll see the pascal quadro line previewed at Siggraph, per usual.
