  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NSFW Tic Tacs Commercial "Four Calories"

It kept my attention in a morbid way. The cinematography was great. This felt like a Tosh bit except with a budget.

will never have tic tacs at a hotel again....well done though very well done though!

In case you guys didn't know, Ed also did the famous "DOVE" piece last month as well.

ED IS ON A ROLL!!!!

Great job Ed!!!!! (PS there is already buzz at AETN about your new piece...I've had a couple of "Did you Sees" today...haha)

I guess this is a joke? Ironic anti-advertising?

Cool art film with lots of cool textural touches, but made me never want to never eat a Tic Tac, ever again. I actually like Tic Tacs, but now you've turned me off them forever. If this is a real client, perhaps they are aiming to reduce sales in order to expedite bankruptcy? Is that the goal?

Also, it is illegal to show smoking in a commercial - I mean prison-time illegal. And for good reason.

There are rules about food commercials - don't be disgusting

Be careful that Tic Tac doesn't sue you.

I would't doubt if this was commissioned by Tic-Tac... off the table of course.

Hahaha

two points:

I won't be running out for a Tic Tac anytime soon either

I'm fairly certain that the laws you speak of relating to smoking in Ads apply to very specific media types, and they define clearly what constitutes an advertisment. It would not surprise me if I found out that this spot lies just outside of those margins.

Edit: Make that three points.
While neither you or I plan to go out for a Tic Tac any time soon, the spot was successful at bringing the brand back into our consciousness. In fact it has done far better than that because we and an unknown number of others are also talking about the brand as a result of the spot. If the numbers get big (and they could) then they will be looking at a very successful campaign, even if they don't sell four little calories worth. ;-)
