which bottoms are customizable. Are any buttons besides A B C D Customizable. I am interested to know if the control wheel is customizable.

I ordered and paid for 2 Sidewinder tools in July...each month told they would be shipping soon...then being told by my rep they would be shipping the middle of October...now I was just told "the item has gone back briefly into development" .

Weird, I just grabbed one from a friend, and it has that small torx. So not sure what's going on.

TIme out. The smaller Torx was (and has been) part of the product run of this tool. Some people who got the early prototypes (NAB 2014 and our NYC store opening earlier this year) did not have that one bit.

Not "back in development" and I will make sure the rep who phrased it that way knows it was incorrect. Just waiting for our next batch of bits.

Dane, we don't charge your card until the order ships. However, the bit we have been waiting on - we got a small batch in around Christmas and built those up. I know we have additional, larger shipments of that coming in this week. So, from there will just be a matter of building them up on the production floor and pumping them out. I would hope we are caught up over the course of the next few weeks of the orders in the system.

Really it's just outa habit now, I just keep checkin in once a month to see if progress has been made on these little hand tools. Not trying to be a smart ass, Just be nice to use one that's all. I think I've waited longer for the hand tool than for the 1st RED camera I bought in 2011.

Anyways, I just got an update from supply chain that the first of the larger batches of the bit did arrive today. So, we subcontracted Santa's now-unemployed elves to work on this hard over the next couple of weeks...

Heh. I remember telling you at NAB 2014 that everybody was going to want them! It's a handy tool for camera people and even DITs. If it was up to me, every rental house would kit each camera with them.
