But the Switchblade is on the SIDE of the camera and has a wheel that you WIND.
And the Sidewinder literally has a flat head screw driver on it that flips out and could be used to shank members of the Jets with.
I have to agree the names would be better swapped. I know I will mix these names up a lot. Still, excited to have them!
I'm sure they have only begun to work their way through the existing back orders. I ordered 3 in June and haven't heard anything yet, so you may be in for a bit of a wait.Have all of the sidewinders shipped? I ordered mine about six weeks ago and it never invoiced...
I talked to RED about it, the next build should allow the modes function in order to use the screen and to select and see what your choosing on it.I picked up my switchblade from RED Irvine a few days ago and put it on my DT Dragon, with Cinemizer goggles attached. My Carbon Fiber was and still is out on a job. Overall, I suspect the Carbon Fiber and Sidewinder, with Cinemizer configuration, while probably taking a fair amount of practice to not crash, will have some application-esp. Gimbal work. Cost aside, there is a potential-1lb. savings on the Carbon Fiber, a 1 lb. savings on the side handle and a 1 lb. savings (+.-) on the monitor. I realize that different configurations and monitors, etc., and YMMV, but not only does the Sidewinder, look more integral, that the side handle, to my eye, but it's display illumination level is perfect. I expect that some will think the thing is busted, at first, though, because the display is enticing and the operator would see, on the display, in a highlighted and real time updated scrolling manner, what the touch screen displays show, for example. Maybe I am missing something there. If anyone knows how to enable the Sidewinder to be primary control, maybe the display shows real time response, as the touch screens do. Actually just thought of that and I already sent my BTD, with Sidewinder out on a charity function..
Could someone check if the Sidewinder can be set, by some menu function in camera (maybe primary display), that allows it to display what the touchscreen does, when it is so designated? If that is not possible, can RED enable that? It would be a great idea, in any case to avoid head trauma, as I can imagine a few operators hitting heads looking at a common display, whilst using the Switchwinder.
Very happy with the Sidewinder. Thanks RED. AND I didn't need the Sidewinder to remove the Side Handle and install the Switchblade...
Thank you very much
Fury
Anyone else still waiting on their sidewinder to ship? Ordered mine mid August...
