  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Now Shipping. Sidewinder. Broadcast Module. Switchblade.

The listings on the store seem to show the same pouch for both the Sidewinder alone, and the DSMC bolt kit. I remember seeing a cheaper looking pouch in a photo as part of the old listing in the store for the Sidewinder. Can anyone confirm which pouch comes with the Sidewinder alone?

LOL I still feel like the names Switchblade and Sidewinder were accidentally put on the wrong products and switched at the last minute. Switchblade is a knife that flips out so it makes sense that the multitool would be that. And the module that goes on the "side" of the camera…well that clearly screams Sidewinder to me!!!

Image is wrong. Tool alone comes with the standard nylon pouch. Having it changed.

The SWITCHBLADE existed (internally) as a product long before the tool. Hence had a name way before the tool was an idea. FWIW, you use SWITCHBLADE to switch settings and when removed, very thin like a blade.

SIDEWINDER. You twist in and out the bolts using this tool.

I don't care what it's called, I'm just anxious for the damn thing to SHIP! :P

Going as quickly as we can. We have no reason to let stuff collect dust in our warehouse : )

My switchblade just was invoiced and is suppose to ship today. Crossing my fingers cause I can really use it Thursday.

Mine comes today, picking it up at FedEx at 6. Can't wait to use it on the movi tomorrow

Not Brent, but they will be getting a unit next week. Don't want to pull inventory away from customer orders :)

I really like the switchblade.

Brent, is there a switchblade I can play with at Red Store Hollywood?

But the Switchblade is on the SIDE of the camera and has a wheel that you WIND. :D

And the Sidewinder literally has a flat head screw driver on it that flips out and could be used to shank members of the Jets with.

I would think a Torx Plus bit would be a much better stabbing weapon. But to each their own : )

Torx is more of a thrusting weapon, a sharpened flat head allows you to thrust and slash, get with the program, Brent!

Heh Heh, If you guys keep publicly explaining the "alternate" uses for the sidewinder online this may get TSA's attention even though the "Bomb" EVF and "WMD" have no issues flying. :-)

If I am taking a RED product into a fight, the 24" stainless steel rod will do just nicely, thank you : )

Just picked up some little things at Red Store Hollywood and I ran away with a couple of alarmingly useful Sidewinders.

The big differences between the prototype shown at NAB 2014 and the final production model are:

- the tool is a bit wider and lighter
- addition of the flat head, Philip's, and OLPF T6 Torx wrench

The width is actually very welcome, specifically when it comes to using the flat head and getting purchased on the base plate bolt.

Really slick job on this guys. Some of us will be using this everyday and it looks like its built to deal with that.
