  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Another trick question.

At first I'd say no, but when you realize that you're being discussed on the REDUSER forums, then yes. They have serious competition, but hey, at least they'll be known as being there the day RED released more info on the SCARLET.

I think it'll be a shocker for everyone out there, to see the latest from Canon compared to the latest from RED. We all know which side we're on, but for everyone out there on the fence, I think they'll fall to one side rather quickly.

I was just thinking of that Ryan "Remember, Remember the 5th of November" as being GuyFalkes Night / Bonfire Night, here in the UK. Relates to the gunpowder plot.

Now, we've got 3rd November, the "Digital Cinema Plot"

I will be here on this forum come Nov 3rd, it's not even worth it to know what Canon have to say.

The codec will always be lesser "inferior" compare to RED's REDCODE.

You can quote me on this.

The Biggest gift from Jim to our world is REDCODE.

I am totally rooting for Canon. RED needs some competition. I am not sure about the chances of a Scarlet competitor being announced on Nov 3rd however.

I love Red and the cameras, but I almost love the swagger and attitude that the company and the people in charge have more then the cameras. So much fun to watch and makes me feel confident about what I have already bought and what I plan to buy going forward.

You've got balls for sure. Swing for the fences. But the track record on Scarlet delivery has been inconsistent. Why will this November be any different? I'm sure the camera specs will be exceptionally good, better then Canon for many but at the end of the day if there's a choice it might between dependable availability on time. I mean no disrespect by this, truly. Why is this time different?

Because they're serious this time. They have a serious announcement date, they've done away with talking about things that aren't ready to ship, and RED is changing. Isn't it great. :D
 
It sounds like Jim knows what Canon will bring on November. Bring it on !
 
When we announce the changes, we will be ready to ship. And you are now officially on the do not ship list. :-)

Because their production line is catching up fast with their R&D, in case you haven't been paying attention - and because Jim said they are not going to announce until they're ready to ship - and they said they're ready to ship.
