  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

November 3rd logistics...

When Jim first announced way back, I had a mental vision of Ted doing a live bit reviewing all the important points, showing the product, etc. However, it looks like from some of Jarred's post this may not be in the cards.

We definitely have some lessons learned from Ketch's Epic Houston to make it an even better event.

Let us know. Natalie said she would love to co-host with Ted that evening.

Shh, that might get people laughing so much they miss the other launch ;) .

Seriously, we don't know what they are doing, but if we look at what a firmware update does to the gh2, imagine what they could do.
 
Since it might come up during all the fun you are all having on Nov. 3rd in Hollywood, and some are mentioning doing some live interviewing, etc. during the event with me, etc.

I will be half way around the world in Asia, doing similar activities in that part of the world as I travel from China to India and then Japan. We will probably do a impromptu breakfast gathering at a Digital Cinema Conference in Macao that i'm speaking at on the morning of Nov. 4th, at the same time things go down on Nov. 3rd in the evening.

No other details from me until after the announcement occurs here online, so don't bother asking :-) Wish I could be there for all the fun and excitement in Hollywood that night - I'll live vicariously through you all that are there, while I'm doing my usual traveling roadshow fun!

I just got an invite to the Canon event, but it's on the 4th and 5th. Are they changing the date, or is the announcement still head to head with RED, and then the event is a day later? "Head to Head with RED." Good event title.
 
So after All the Videos I watched of Ted giving us info and then not giving us info about Scarlet, on the actual Day I won't get to hear him at all!!!

Bummer!!!

I guess Scarlet will have to speak for itself!

That's not chinese but portuguese, another language of Macau -- Macao in english (and in english, it is: ...you'll have a good chance of personally knowing Ted as same as us in Rome, good one!)

Ted is a very nice mouth of RED and very kind person, BTW.

Maybe someone who is attending the live event could set up a videofeed via Bambuser? Unless you guys at RED have some plans for broadcasting the event yourselves...

The most funny is or you have a special (crazy? ;-) engine to look for anyone who types your name (let's do a test right now :D and type it again in the portuguese form_Sérgio... :) or we were more or less at the same time (with a delay of about 30 min.s) in the same page :-)

Or yet, Jannard/JarRED are the combo who puts us here these crazy days earlier in such regular (!? :P) basis whenever Jim has something special (Epic-S too?) to announce ;-)

I've setup a few accounts to live-stream... But you guys do know, this is just a bunch of redusers sitting around watching the announcement updating... Its being posted on the forums. Not announced at the event.
 
WHAT!!! NO TED!!!! I wanted a picture with him. I love to watch his enthusiasm while doing interviews. This is a guy who loves what he does, and believes in a product (im sure jim and jarred and many others do as well, but Ted is more public.) Anything you guys want...im flying in from SF.

I have a feeling however there will be more to it then just a bunch of redusers sitting around reading the update. Why would red invite people out to the studios to just sit... read... and leave? I have faith in red to make the trip more worthwhile.
 
How do I get a job as Ted's assistant?! Traveling the world to exotic locations, talking about Red cameras. Plus, in every interview I think I've seen with the guy for the last four years he seems eternally optimistic.

This is such a cool thing to be a part of.

I am grateful and I appreciate that I will be able to share that day with other fellow filmakers and artists alike.

That's one of things I enjoy most about film, all the great people I meet.

I know I talk a lot of crap, we all do, probably cause its fun, but on Nov. 3rd, it will be one Big Celebration!

Truly looking forward to it!
