  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

November 3rd... Canada too?

For those of us still trying to live up to the "Hoser" reputation the title of this thread should have been: Nov 3rd...Canada too EH! Just wanted to clear that up and as Joseph pointed out there is a NAIT/ Vancouver guy who I am sure will keep us folks up north of the USA in mind....Right ? Do I have to move back to east van to get a Scarlet? Does an expired Edmonton Fringe pass count for anything?

Oh wow, I thought November 3rd was just pre-order. Damn. I guess I'm going to have to be ready with the full amount as opposed to a pre-order down payment. At least I have two weeks to work some magic.

Sorry to be thinking out loud but does anyone think you'll need to prep any more than having a Paypal account/Red.com account to make Nov. 3rd go as smooth as possible?

I know this is an old thread but I have a question for Canadians that have purchase their Scarlet.
Care to provide me what you paid for Duty and Taxes?
You can PM if you wish to remain anonymous.
Not really a Canadian thing but being careful ;)

If you're a registered business with a GST number, you pay 5% tax when it comes across the border. Thats how much I paid.

If you're not a business, well, lets just say you may need some medicated cream when the post man asks for money.

Haha thanks Shervin :)
Do you know if that's on the total amount?
I'm not sure about duty and tax on warranty since RED Armor is 1500 USD.

You'll pay tax on the full amount - amount varies depending which province you live in. There is no duty, just an assessment of sales tax at the same percentage as if you walked down the street and bought a scarlet at the corner store.

If you have an HST (or GST depending on where you are) you will get that money *back* as an input tax credit. The shipping company will probably charge you a broker fee if you don't have a broker - Fed-Ex has the lowest / no charges.

Thanks Glen.
Where I am its 12% total.
I wonder what REDs International Priority gets you as far as shipping goes?
Damn this is big boy territory ;)
