I would like to know if the 2/3 or the S35 will be able to control the Zeiss Canon based ZE lenses seeing as how they dont have a manual iris...

Hi Jim, Jarred, Red Team.
It would be perfect if we could buy the 2/3 zoom of the Scarlet Fixed and we can add it to the Scarlet Interchangeable for 1500/2000 dollars. Or maybe if you buy a Scarlet Fixed + a Scarlet Interchangeable you have a big discount.
Fantastic announcement as usual. You should really do this every last of the month. So good for liveliness.
I try to read as many posts as possible but couldn't see this already mentioned.
Mini primes are gorgeous.
But am I alone thinking a key lens is missing?
The one right in the middle between 8mm and 16mm?
.
(re: grabs) thats the million dollar question! :sifone: really looking forward to this as well.
Trying to find this info but the thread is already huge.
Will the fixed-lens Scarlet body include a microphone? (even if it's low quality)
It would make sense, given that the package is supposed to be ready to shoot out of the box.
The mic is a low profile scratch microphone that snaps into the front microphone ports on both Scarlet and Epic.. it's not built in per say but it blends in pretty well. We like to keep things modular to give people options.
Jarred stated that a small scratch mic will be included on the brains.
And the fixed lens Scarlet can accept an optional audio module with XLR's?
Hey Danill welcome to the family
We are still discussing mount options.. It seems like an easy solution to just provide whatever mount is wanted but there is a bit if a logistical issue to provide that sort of thing.. But we are discussing solutions.

There was a mention of an included mic before (I believe by Jarred).
I would appreaciate if one of the Red staff could comment on the existence of a REDMic.
Scarlet Interchangeable is a very powerful tool, it just need a 2/3 zoom to be perfect.
16mm zooms are too old to resolve 3K and match with red mini primes; or too expensive if they are good ones.
New versions of RedCine-X and RocketCine-X just got posted to RED.com. Thank Rob and Deanan![]()
