Hey guys,

I just recently came off a feature as a 2nd and during our time we ended up breaking three Noga Arms. We were extremely careful after our first one broke but even normal wear and tear these arms just didn't hold up. Same thing would happen everytime where it would become unthreaded at the elbow. We weren't even cranking them down that hard. Is there any place where you can just buy the elbow arms or get them repaired? Is there a better solution than a Noga arm? At $140 an arm you would think they would last a bit longer. Surprisingly enough our DP had the RED articulating arm which looks just like a Noga and very well may be a rebranded Noga and it lasted the entire shoot. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks everyone.

This is so great to know... I thought that when a NOGO or Red or Isreli Arm was damaged they were gone... I am happy that they may be able to be fixed... I have operators (and they know who they are) who tweak arms without lessening them....

is there a better solution/more expensive arm that doesnt break so easy? I've gone through 2 RED arms, 1 Noga, and 1 Small HD in the past few months

I broke a couple Noga arms recently. Both were brand new, both fell apart on set and very inopportune. I got a big Zacuto arm with the 15mm round ends. It is rock solid, tightens down 100% not almost tight or kind of tight.
+1 on Zacuto..

Apparently, they had a bad batch of parts this past year on the Noga arms, so threads were stripping out easily.

They sent me replacement parts (at no charge) and haven't had a problem since.

i would rather stick with the Noga arms then move to the zacuto logos everywhere personally- Mark did you just email them at noga@noga.com?

Just a note,

16x9 does a great job. I believe I had them service 3 noga arms last year. Quick turnaround. And, all I had to pay was shipping. Seems that there was a bad batch of noga arms, and I had three in the same set...which made since because I purchased them (all from B&H) within a 4 month period. Haven't really tested them since to use them, but they seem like their fixed.

I believe the contact info for noga repair if anyone is interested is tony.garcia@16x9inc.com

Thanks for this info. I recently had a Noga arm that literally fell apart in my hands, on the first day in use.
Seems rare, but I'm glad I know now that there's a chance to call in and get it fixed.

just donated and ordered mine :)

Bob, Sage,

Those infinity arms look very nice- and a little more sturdy than the cine arms I have now. I'm thinking of either dumping my current set of arms and buying a couple of yours...or just bearing through it and pray that these don't let me down when I need them most!
