  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"Nine Inch Nails" Burn Live on stage Melbourne shot on Canon 5D Mark II

You want to see epic level rolling shutter check out the video for wish from the same performance:

Ouch. FAIL.

5D2 sucks (for this sort of work). NIN rocks.

It's not a music video in any sense of he word, it was obviously not shot by anyone with any experience making moving pictures.

I ended up watching this a couple more times, and the more I do, the more I disagree. This is actually everything music videos nowadays are NOT.

One of the posted comments on Vimeo sums it up well I thought, lol:

"If these onstage videos don't make you want to become a fucking rock god instantly, there is something wrong with you."

I never thought I would ever say this, but who cares about the rolling shutter?!

Well I watched with the sound off ( I am a fan of NIN but was watching footage from a camera, not evaluating the audio), and all I say was a bunch a badly composed, shaky out of focus shots of the backs of peoples heads and other random crap. Had someone duct taped the camera to a Labrador Retrievers head, I think the results would have been much the same.

That's just my opinion. All I'm saying is it's not my cup of tea. Also, I don't go to rock shows anymore because it's remarkably like going to the air port but you never go anywhere. Mayhaps I am getting old ;-)

Was likely shot at the behest of Mr Reznor who is a sharp fish! I did a video for his Ghosts experiment last year which was interesting...he put all twenty odd tracks in the public domain for people to experient with visually. Also when he was told that a DVD was not going to be made of his tour he told security to be relaxed for recording equipment when he heard that several fans were going to unite and record the tour. He then gave a nod to make the footage available to whoever wanted a go at making a video of the tour.

I like his philosophy...and his music!
