  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New york times - EPIC / RED ONE

I dont know if it was playback or not, but some of the shutter speeds/motion blur that was in the shots looked off, or "experimented with"...anybody else get that?

I noticed the motion on the Anthony Mackie one.

the Michael Douglas one is downright inspiring.

Watched these yesterday and was about to ask if they had been shot on RED.

Yes, I also see that on the Anthony Mackie one, it has some weird jello effect of his head bending down and up as he starts running, it kind of looks like the 7D jello effect, or is that just my monitor/ computer?

I love how everything looks, beautiful cinematography, congrats RED team.

Yeah, they all look great. But, not trying to be negative and detract from the thread, the Anthony Mackie one has some issues. His head is super squishy at the beginning from the rolling shutter. And then the shutter speed starts to do some weird stuff with the motion once it speeds up in the middle of the clip.

I'm thinking many of the scenes were shot at higher frame rates (60+) even if they are displayed at 24/30, explaining some of the motion characteristics. I do love the ramping on some of the clips...very powerful effect.

What happened on the Anthony Mackie scene?

My guess is the speed ramp is done in post, and wasn't done very carefully.

I'm new here, but the Epic doesn't ramp in camera does it (say from 24 to 120)?

Nice concept, though.

Noticed a bunch of people asking if this was Red One MX footage or Epic footage. Thats gotta make the One MX people feel pretty damn good about their investment.

bingo...

Is Tilda shot on Epic?

Looks like Chloe might have been.

Got to say Jarred, darn tough to tell, especially because of variables involved, but that does speak well for R1.
