  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New to the reduser.. Hello everyone!!

if we don't use the scopes in davinci...what other options are people using?.

ultrascope into BM decklink and hdmi out ok? seems a shame to use my sdi monitor for scopes.

I am currently running a hp xw8200 paired with a home built touch screen lcd running a black magic ultra scope. Its no leader but it works. :)
It has a loop through so I will not kill your sdi output.. The black magic i/o card also has 2 sdi outputs on the card.

Hi Darin.

What's your thoughtsl on EXR vs DPX vs RAW as a grading base in Resolve?

I'll finally get around to run some tests on this after new year, but some input would be appreachiated.

Cheers!

Good Day Gunleik,

I've been living in dpx for the past 5 years. On my home hobby system i have not yet afforded a red rocket card. While working in red or raw code I do a conform pass first from the native file format and debayer everything to a 10 bit dpx.
Dpx has always been the tested and preferred file for the resolve.

I am not familiar with the EXR format. I just did a little search (i love the internet) I really like what I read. I need to do some research myself. I'm going to debayer some red 4k files to EXR If the resolve can utilize the higher bit rate of the format it may be a better option.
If I was rocking the latest greatest, hot rodded, linux resolve and is had the cpu, gpu, and disk i/0 horsepower to leave everything native I would. No extra copies, no proxies to manage and the confidence I have access to everything the original file has to offer. Looks great on paper.. lol

What I am most curious about is the metadatacontroll, but hey... I'll know the answer to that in a week or two...

Thanks for the reply!
