  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New SSD 512GB + 32GB

512 gb : any experience now ?
Any specs on the compression ratios at the higher frame rates on the 512 gb ?
Real difference compression/frame rates between 256 and 512 gb card ?

I wonder if getting a 512MB makes sense, mainly for high frame rate, less artifacts shooting.

In need of 4x 512GB cards for a dive shoot in SA one week end of august... Have these card even been available, or just something to come in the future?
 
Pretty sure they must have been available at some point Bjorn because I've seen peoples SSD collections and was surprised to see the red coloured ssd's.

I think they have just been out of stock for a while.

I assume these are not compatible with the Red One?
Does anyone know?

Brownian motion in Pinewood have some to rent. Maybe Jeff can help you out from there....

Every time I buy media I wish the 512's were back in stock, its painful to my wallet not having them around as we love our large SSDs for the type of work we do.

If you need to rent some we are using them on Transformers. Zach and Steve and Brook bought a ton of them and might rent you some. They are so beautiful in there red anodizing.

You do need to either power your reader or have a good USB 3 connection.
 
512's have been out for a while, they did need a firmware update or two, but seem to be alright now. You have to power your REDMAG reader from the AC adapter since these SSDs seem to draw more power than the smaller mags.

I have one 512 in my kit. Need to buy a couple more and will probably do so once in stock again... in prep for Dragon. :)

Wht is the compression rates for Dragon 6K using these 512GB SSD VS Epic MX ?
