  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

its all about options.. you wanted more.. so we gave you more. Cheaper, slower cards for the budget minded Scarlet customer or the Epic guys that shoot with lower data rate demands, and Ferrari-fast cards for people that want to shoot high frame rates with even less compression or are anticipating DRAGON.

Thanks

The 512 is AWESOME, but with the OLED Bomb, Pro I/O I might have to wait a little. Hopefully they won't go out of backorder too quickly! :-)

Thanks for the option on the slower card, it will be nice not to have to buy the more expensive cards that I can't use the full potential of anyway.

Now if we can get those in larger sizes than 32GB that would be awesome too.

More choices. Love it.

Yeah, affordable media. This is wonderful news.

I hope eventually that lower speed media will trickle into the higher capacity cards as well...

As a "budget conscious" new Scarlet owner I'm interested to see how cheaper these cards will be. Having dropped almost $2k on two 64GB cards that I may not be using to their full potential, I would rather sell them and reinvest some money into batteries etc.

Yeah, I am considering Scarlets as B cams for live events and the main thing stopping me is the cost of the media. The 32GB affordable media is definitely a step in the right direction but it is kinda restrictive in size. Having an alternative all the way through the range would be amazing.

32GB Lower Cost SSD - Data Rate almost half current media. Matched to Scarlet's top speed. Priced to match. A lot of Scarlet user's dream..

Cool,
but will the 32GB SSD be fast enough for the future Scarlet with Dragon-upgrade?

You can always lower the data rate via frame rates or compression ratios to match the media.
