  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New REDMAG Pricing

Like many Scarlet users here can't buy expensive RED media.

You've joined a very special club here. You buy expensive, professional gear, be ready to pay professional prices for sturdy, reliable tech. Were you around when P2 media was first introduced? If so, you'd be very happy with REDMAG pricing.

I ordered a new REDMAG, mucho thanks RED on the price. Noticed some major improvements in how long it takes for orders to be shown, how the new orders status is displayed and how old order state is grouped. I really appreciate the work - awesome job!

Ditto. Speed of completing orders has improved dramatically on RED.com I got my REDmote and 128GB REDmag just in time for my shoot tomorrow. Thanks guys!

I agree but don't offer Scarlet users 32gb cards and wondering why are they asking for them? Sure, this isn't the place to talk about it here in this thread.

Is there any harm of asking? Especially when Epic folks ask about Turbo 512Gb cards....and look we have pictures of them

so I happen to have a scarlet, but I am so confused how many people ordered a scarlet and didn't know how expensive it was going to be... if you have a scarlet, and you don't like the expense of it...stop complaining. you should have known what you were getting into before you purchased your camera.. not trying to change the price of accessories after you purchased the camera.

Steven

we all want more... ;)

I have sold all 64GB to move to the 128GB, then sold al 128GB to move to the 256GB, now sold al 256GB to move to the 512GB, each our needs, but we also need to be patient...

NO arm in asking, if we do so politely, we'll have all that we want, eventually... ;)

Complainers everywhere. We learned along time ago even if you gave a village a mountain of gold.. eventually they will start to complain about needing to climb it :)

Anyways..

Sorry for the delay with the 32GB card info.... the delay was for your benefit.

Looks like we are going to be able to turn the 32GB cards into 48GB cards and we are going to keep the price the same. But to do so.. we still need to wait till Murphy's law kicks in as the memory companies flip into the next quarter.

48GB cards shipping September 28th.

Happy now?

Whaaaaat? Only 48GB? hehehe!

Great news Jarred! And even with a shipping estimate ;) wow!
Thanks for the update. Can you let slip what the pricing is you are keeping ;) We guesstimated the rough area of the pricing during NAB but I don't think a price was ever mentioned. Not that it really is that important. I'm just curious and nosey like always ... hehehe

I don't seem to get it...why are so many users are making this a big deal. We aren't complaining. We are asking you a question if you don't have the answer; fine. We are curious, is that a problem. It seems to be. Again, Epic owners get what they ask for...we understand the business side of things.

Great for the update but now we have to wait again until end of Sept for these cards. I so much appreciate your efforts but what's with the larger capacity? Are 32Gb phasing out of existence or are they not fast enough?

I know I will get heat over this. I must be the only Scarlet user who wants a lower capacity. Sorry.

I want to personally thank you, Jarred for updating us on this post. Every Scarlet owner will be thrilled...

We're not all complaining...that includes Murphy's of the world

Well, good things come to those who wait. Thanks for the capacity boost!

Of course I'm not happy.. I want my brand new 512GB SSD's to be turned in to 576GB at the same price too... ;)

JUST KIDDING of course... I'm behind happy... 512GB SSD's will make shooting Rape of a Beauty, and all my Fashion work a much better experience... ;)

We aren't complaining...I think most Scarlet owners appreciate the upgrade, but we have to wait another 3 months...that's what Jarred is stating.

I wonder how you Epic folks would feel if Jarred would say:

"Looks like we are going to be able to turn the Turbo 512GB cards into 632GB cards and we are going to keep the price the same. But to do so.. we still need to wait till Murphy's law kicks in as the memory companies flip into the next quarter.

I bet you folks wouldn't be too happy either. Love to see that.

I'm glad all you Epic folks that can afford Turbo cards are thrilled. Yeah for you, but for us Scarlet folks, I personally would like to have 32gb cards for now like you promoted at NAB. So, what happened during the 32gb cards testing for three months. They didn't preform well? They didn't work. What's with the change?

and for the record, if you gave me a mountain of 32gb gold, I'm already there! I've been waiting for the past three months on top with my Scarlet cam ready to roll much like you Epic users would be up there waiting for your Turbo cards.

My two cents...

I'm happy every single time I turn my camera on.

And I hate to ask for any more information because you just gave a lot, but is there any approximate range on pricing for these? I'm deciding between picking up a 128GB card now, or waiting for 3 or 4 48GB cards in September/October. I'm 100% confident that they will be priced how you guys think is fair and appropriate, and I (personally) won't complain whatever the price is. But whatever it is, will help make up my mind between one or two 128GB mags, or 4 48GB mags.
