  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NEW REDCINE-X TUTORIAL

Basically everyone in Australia is a genius! We just keep it a secret!

Isn't the choice of ISO when shooting irrelevant? My understanding is that the camera only notes the ISO setting in metadata but doesn't do anything as far as changing the sensitivity of the sensor. It can be a bit confusing to anyone used to shooting raw with still cameras. With the RED can't you just choose the ISO in post?

It's great to have resources like your video posted on here. Thank you.

It is metadata, and as such, the ISO you shoot with is what ISO it will start out with when you first start editing. And more importantly, you want to nail down your exposure settings (aperture and lighting) with at least a target ISO in mind. The monitor will reflect the ISO choice you've made.

Awesome tutorial Matt, one of the best i've seen... at least one that i understand anyway... :)

New to Red and raw this was very helpful.. I've used the sliders my whole life not knowing what curves were... Great stuff...

What has thrown me of is this ISO business.... trying to wrap my head around all this metadata business.... Did you shoot it at 320 or 800? If 800 is native why are you viewing at 320 in post? Or are you shooting at 320?
I may have to watch it again cause i must of missed something..

Thanks again

Owen
