  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

new RED Pro Program...

Looks really great guys. I sure hope a similar setup will be available by the time I shoot. Keep up the great work. I've gotta say... the design has really come a long way. I'm digging the grey. :turned:

Not Superheroes.. Just a really nice blend of Multiple Personality Disorders, sprinkled with severe sleep deprivation.

Easy to confuse the two :)

heh heh heh...

It does seem more a prototype than a mock-up... :-)

That DSMC Picture is incredible. I'm drooling!

Bah, sleep is over rated! I do my best work between 1am and 4am anyways. Having to get up at six for school every morning doesn't help much though...

I don't know how I'm still alive  .

I apologize if this has been asked but...

any word on the 300mm lens tstop?

Here yea go...

All primes should be T1.9 except the 300mm and possibly the 14mm. We are looking close at that one. The extra cost of making the 14mm T1.9 might be hard for our customers to swallow. Jury is still out.

Now, I need to get some sleep...

OK, I slept on it... we'll do that. Only seems fair to me.

Jim

Well 1im i bought the 18-85 and 50-150..........!!

looking for your discount to :-)

Does nobody else here think a 40mm is important?
As a second series lens of course.

As to what a standard set is, if it's supers it's generally 18, 25, 35, 50 & 85.
If it's standards or Ultras it's 16, 24, 32, 50 and 85.
For S4s it usually 18, 25, 32, 50, 75.

I'm pretty fond of my Zeiss T2.1 spread which is 12, 16, 24, 32, 40, 50, 85, and 100. I disagree that you don't need an 85 and 100, I have both and use the 100 much more, but the 85 can save your ass when the 100 is just a hair too long, although I'd prefer a 65 or 75 to 85mm.

My ideal Red prime set would be.. 14, 18, 27, 40, 65 & 100. What can I say, I'm a strange dude:shiftyph34r:

Not strange, that's an ideal 6 lens prime set you describe... I Probably would get that too exact set too if all the lenses were available at the same time and they were priced only in a per lens fashion.

But that does not seem to be the case, at least not initially. I guess we can decide after NAB and see who else is really actually ready to begin shipping and maybe get a subjective take on the Red wonder glass too.

I'm happy that the primes went from perpetually delayed to hopefully shipping in the near future status.

A 10mm is a very difficult/big lens to produce. We don't feel like we can sell enough 10mm lenses to justify the development costs. Better to rent one.

Jim

Are you sure? There seems to be alot of requests for this focal length. . Maybe there should be a poll, it could help in your decision. :)

A 14mm would be a very nice wide and it would diminish any reason to buy a competing product at any price. This type of wide lens is quite important for shooting sports.
Thank you.
