  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

new RED ONE support.

On the topic of 2.4:1, is there an ETA on the 4.5K full sensor width 2.4:1 mode? Just checking.

Yes Jim. What happened to 4.5 K ? Is still going to be supported ?

Thanks

It is pretty hard answering the same question 10 times. Yes to 4.5K RED ONE support. We are working on it.

I'll be the first to agree that the search engine is seriously lacking. But I'd bet real money that if it did work as it should, people still wouldn't use it.

Oh, and it is possible to use Google to search this site. Works rather well, that's how I search.

I asked this question before (which no replied until today) i asked again on the thread after this which u replied on that thread (faster than this). I dont want to sound nagging on this. But i asked this question twice only. Sorry if you find it annoying. It's not my intention. I'm just wondering because on this thread you posted, it didnt state at 4.5K support.

I got my answer earlier from you that you are working on it. Thanks

Randi,

I don´t think he meant that you personally had asked that question 10 times - it was RedUsers in general. I remember reading his answer about this a couple of days back.

As more and more users join reduser, this will only get worse...

Hey Jeff,

what's the format to search in google to search reduser, is it something like ff35:reduser. I have been wanting to use it, but can't find where someone mentioned it here before because of the hard time we have searching the site ;) funny paradigm ;)

Hi Scott,

There might be a better (or at least quicker) way that Jeff's superior technical knowledge is aware of, but if you go into advanced search in Google you can specify a domain to search within - just type reduser.net in here and search away as normal - presto, only RU hits!

Happy Googling!...
Dom.

PS: Yes, the search function on this site bites quite considerably!

Having actually bothered to just go and look for a better way (as it's a bit annoying having to go into advanced search to do this), it appears you were nearly spot on - add "site:reduser.net" as one of your search terms and that will do the trick.

...And cheers for inspiring me to actually go and work that out for myself!

Anamorphic letterbox

Anamorphic letterbox

Deanan,
When I render out a clip shot with my anamorphic lens in REDAlert, I get black bars on top and bottom. Is there a way to render so that just the image comes out with no black bars?

Thank you,
John

It's in the scale section on output.
The new feature enables desqueeze plus letterbox.

Anamorphic playback in QT?

Anamorphic playback in QT?

RED team -- When will the new QT Codec be posted? When I try to play QT proxies of anamorphic clips shot with Build 18, all I see is a scrambled image. I'm using the RED QT Codec 3.50. Is there a later version than what is shown in the http://www.red.com/support/release_history/1? -- Thank you, John

Problem solved on the anamorphic playback in QT.
We'll have a new QT codec out soon.

Thanks for all the google tips guys, they work great. Maybe red should make a sticky somewhere that describes this so we can cut down on the repeat questions ;)

Anyway it was very helpful

Just shot two straight days on a personal project with build 18. Shot 4K ana, 4K 16x9, 3K ana, 3K 16x9 and 2K ana. Had two freezes, both times were when attempting to navigate menus (it is a beta build), but other than that it was flawless. This is the build I had been waiting for and am extremely pleased. REDCINE support will be great once the new version comes along as well as QT codec which will give more options for post which I'm excited for!
Once again, great work on this RED team!
