Possibly making it able to be installed under the bulk of top plates being used? Having to send in one of Red's own top plates for modification in order to work with the fan would have been a real bummer...hope this negates that need.

If anything - the new one looks even tiny bit bigger. However looking so good - you may not want to cover it with a top plate :reddevil:
Or it is going to look like those red calipers on sports cars... ;o)

I do like the option of quickly looking at the top of a camera and seeing if it has the fan upgrade. Very useful in rental situations.

will there be samples out at the RED "offices" (Pinewood, Berlin...)? I definitely want to test this on actual camera (I have 15 rod support installed and I have an RedMote antenna range extender installed - so I want to verify this stuff is not blocking anything before I drop the money)... Any time-frame for us?

It looks like it is where the heat sink is now placed.
