  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The differences you're seeing between the display in REDAlert and in Quicktime are likely due to the fact that several of the settings in REDAlert (namely colour space, gamma and curves) do not carry over to the Quicktime reference files.

The next version of Clipfinder will add ways to display clips via RED's SDK. This should eliminate any differences between REDAlert display, Clipfinder display and rendered files.

P.S. The REC709 colour and gamma space settings can be selected
- in-camera (View menu)
- in REDAlert
- in Clipfinder's and REDRushes render settings
- in Color, in the RED tab in the "Primary In" room
There is no way I know of that will change the colour/gamma space of a Quicktime reference file.

Hey Hans ... that was quick, it's Xmas ... get back to your family :biggrin:

My puzzle stems from the post at http://reduser.net/forum/showpost.php?p=323724&postcount=2
It mentions "Set REC709 in your RED CAMERA Quick time proxy settings" which I can only find in the 'view' menu and this only affect what is 'rendered' to the LCD/EVF and cannot see how it alters the QT Proxies ?! RAW is RAW right ;-)

I so wish this workflow was consistent in what one sees/views in one app versus the other (ie : gamma), but it sounds like the SDK needs integrating.

Oh well, close but not quite ... back to rendering what I need (BTW, rendered files match what I see in RA ok); it's the QT Proxies which elude me and wondered if I missing something somewhere :matrix:
