  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Yea I got everything in there, except the Meizler, and oH S&^%#$ the Rotating filter tray, now that I would have like to know about before I sold my RED MB... Oh well, if I come to need a Super light weight Bad A#$ MB again I'll buy an other one... ;)

BTW, I only sold that REDMB PRO MB because didn't had the Rotating Filter tray for the 138mm Polarizer, which I never do without, not even at night... ;)
 
Hi Brent, correct me if I'm wrong but the "Red Station AC Power Adapter" that's listed...is that the same one that we shouldn't be using on the USB 3 Red Station Regmag 1.8 (mini)?

I'm not sure if that issue ever got resolved but I remember getting an email that the adapters should not be used for them (meaning that we had to use the usb3 to DC cable to power the drive) because in rare situations it might damage something (the computer I think).

Is this the same adapter or is the the replacement and fixed version? Just curious.

I believe this one is specific to the non-mini RED STATIONS. No need to use AC power with the mini.

Haha, the Red MB looks cool I must say. How does the Bright Tangerine work out for you Ketch? It looks super cool, but a bit on the expensive side.

KETCH ROSSi, do you post under the name of brett ogden? For two users who live in different countries / time zones your post times are uncannily similar on many, many occasions. The cadence seems very similar too.
 
Really? My usb3 mini won't work without AC or usb to DC cable. If I just plugged in my usb 3 cable to the station and macbook, the light infront doesn't come on. Has my mini been faulty all this time? It would definitely save from me having to plug in 2 usbs into my mac (which only has 2 meaning plugging a usb external hard drive get's very tricky).

Not all all USB ports provide the ability to power devices. Also on some laptops/notebooks/macbooks you may need to be A/C powered to power external devices. This was/is done to protect you from draining your battery on your system. I would personally test it out on a desktop if you have any concerns on it's functionality.

Me and Ketch our 2 Different people on different sides of the world. I have seen that we do post sometimes Very Close together I guess thats luck. Me and ketch a Good friends But I don't have his Password for RedUser and He does not Have mine.

Hmm. Thanks Phil. I'm using a Macbook Pro Retina (fully maxed). I figured that since I can do usb2 bus powered that usb3 would be the same. I believe I had the same issue using my iMac 27inch before I sold it (just after buying my Red). Anyone else using a Retina have this same issue?
