  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New October 2024 V-Raptor X, V-Raptor, and Komodo X firmware betas

Is anyone actually testing out any of the new beta firmware?

While I have a slight window before the next project I need my KX on I'm admittedly a bit hesitant to jump in.

In the past I have experienced some odd memory card issues (a read/write error) that seemed to only come up when I had Pre-Record on so I am curious if that is fixed.

If anyone has reports, would be happy to hear.

I will mid-Nov when this production wraps. Can't actually do it live on this particular shoot.

BUT. Top LCD Horizon = a feature request and a great addition!

Video Overlay features also really good. Playback to Camera Webpage is truly epic.

T-Stop Iris Display, small thing, but good thing.

Does Playback to Camera Webpage behave the way it sounds?
Can one actually see a playback of a clip streamed wirelessly through the camera generated web portal?

Got this beta in hopes they would add the remaining settings options as soft buttons.

still no option for edge, focus or peaking buttons in custom layouts. :(
 
I don't know why they include IOS 6 for the DSMC3 7" Monitor. It isn't compatible. Spectrum doesn't work on the exposure tool. I reached out to SmallHD about it, and they suggested v5.5.3. I rolled it back and now I get a message that my monitor firmware is out of date upon boot up.

Might want to try RED support for that one.

I’ve heard stories that juggling RED and Small HD updates with that monitor can sometimes be confusing.
