  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New MoVI

So, how long is it going to be before RED aquires Freefly ?

Thanks for the info Brett. I'm gonna see if Cinemilled will make feet attachment for their ring. If not, I'll just get these.
Yes, you can go from the Ninja Star accessory to whatever you like - the 'hole' from the Toad in the Hole accessory attached to Ninja Star, then Ninja Star to a given thread size. The ring comes with a 'toad' built in.

How do you think the ring will interface with the Ready Rig? Looks as though the camera is going to be very low if you connect to the hand stops. Also, how would you get eye level shots with a support rig?

that's gonna get in the way of the ready rig. the ready rig is too wide. i already have that issue with the current model with ring.

They show you how to get eye level shots on the promo - by cheating your hands down to the bottom of the ring.

Received a response from Freefly via FB about battery life powering RED w/ accessories.. here's the reply for anyone interested.

"Freefly Systems: We are getting around 1 hour with a 8K RED Helium"

So the unit w/ 8 in total batteries, 4 chargers comes out to $7,500. not bad, not bad.

Attach to the side rails 30mm to 1/4 20 clamp, 1/4 20 to 15mm spud to 1/4 20 screw with 1" washer. Now attach your ready rig straps to each spud and good to go.

Cool that they fixed their pricing. I always felt previous Mōvi generations were 2x to 3x the price I'd be willing to pay.

DJI will still have a look at this and come out with something to steal some of Freefly's lunch money, but $6500 is quite OK for this package.

Good for them.

Nice one, Ned!

Now if you can mount your rig BELOW the hand stops so the movi will be eye level, we'd have something going.......

Steve, you can mount your camera to the sled upside down and oversling (Tero mode) the mōvi

Rigging this way wit the ready rig makes it even easier to get eye level or higher shots.

I've done walking over the shoulder looking at someone looking at their phone this way before.

It doesn't have to be that extreme either, you can adjust / shorten the readyrig arms to increase tension / pivot for "tall mode"

Dan, do you need to re-balance in order to mount to the sled upside down?

Is there any bts video of it in high mode?
