  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New MoVI

Glad I waited on buying a gimbal also, looks sweet

Yep,

Freefly surely did it again, and this time in a big way on both the Tech and Pricing side of things!

Why do you need a jetpack, it holds 6.80kg !
My Weapon with wireless HD, an omod and a 50mm sigma art + mattebox is not even 5.50kg.

This thing with an Angenieux will own the market.

Most likely He's wanting the Jetpack on the DSMC2 because it will be powered directly by the Gimbal and leave the lightest smallest foot print of the camera body itself with more room for heavier lenses.

I guess the best RED module for this will be I/O V-Lock Expander. Power the camera from the MoVi through the expander and then take the camera from the MoVi put the V-Lock battery and go to shoot handheld :)

I'm wondering if the Pro Ring with feet will be compatible with the other models - it's the one reason why I kept the Letus Helix along with the MoVi, for it's ability to be used w/o having to bring an additional stand. Totally worth it if it's sold separately

The Pro Ring is compatible with all MōVI models.

Exactly, less time to switch between rigs is crucial. With a max load like that, you can have a unique 15mm setup for gimbal and other rigs. If the movi dovetail is Arri compatible, it's even better.

hold your horses... yet again everyone is hyped for a gamechanger, calling it better then all the competition... i wanna see some real footage from users (not promotional videos). god damn this forum is sometimes so full of ass kissers and some have already burned their lips few times.
non the less Movi was better then others so far in most parts (price wasnt the best, snow or rain was a big problem with movi exposed cables,...). lets wait and see what this one can do in real life situation...

It's pretty simple, the M15 is the best gimbal, this is a 100 percent improvement on that - if you take all these improvements together you have something more than the sum of its parts, which is why people are getting so excited.

I'm especially excited about the improved GPS capabilities and the new Mimic unit!

Now I want one.

It's basically a mix between a Beast (but classier) and a Sachtler, with MoVI highend feel.
They nailed it perfectly. Price is high though, considering all the thing you have to add. It's more like 10k+

Where do you get 10k? 6500 gets you gimbal (2) batts, (1) Pro Ring, (1) Mimic (2) Chargers. Enough to get going. Add another 500.00 for cables.

Either way, I placed my order this morning. Won't be sleeping on this one.

I wouldn't say ass kissers but rational speculators considering MOVI's history with the M15. No one in their right mind would see them going backwards. And considering the competition.....

For us it's about $10k. 6500 plus 6x more batteries, a handful of extra chargers, all the RED-related cables, plus 1x motor cable and the low profile handle come to almost $9k. Then for us we are neighbors to Freefly so we also have the joy of paying sales tax.

You got a point. Does add up fast.

While I applaud the new design, I still can't get over that they didn't incorporate worm gears for adjusting all axises. Inexcusable.

Wow, that is a great price. When I first saw the promo video, I was thinking $12K+ because it seems so advanced.

But alas, I realize that 2017 I'm getting the Epic-W but I need to use my extra money for projects and not gear.
