New MacBook Pro or Razor Blade pro?

I use davinci resolve heavily and need a mobile workstation. I have a main computer but need something for on the go. I am looking at the new MacBook pro that was just released or the new 17inch razor blade pro with 1080 graphics installed.

What do you think would handle red footage better? I know the razor has more power but I also know that davinci really works on optimizing their stuff for mac. Thoughts?

The specs on the Razor clearly best the Apple in that price category.A concern with the Razor would be thermal heat build up over extended use creating component failure points.

Battery life will poor for persistant CPU/GPU tasks, which equate to more recharge cycles. Recharge cycles that could lead to early battery failure requiring replacement, which could be costly if battery is proprietary.

As we all know, stuff loves to stop working the day after the warranty period expires .
