I am ready to order!
Seems like the speculation that it would be all eigh tcore was right.
Which graphic card will be the best one for processing RED?

Would like to know the same thing.
I suppose it's the ATI Radeon unless they've updated the NVIDIA drivers.
Older Macbook Pro's have an ATI. Mine does.
The problem is not that we need to get "on the ball" with full Mac Nvidia support. Nvidia is the better card for this sort of thing which is why it's our preferred card under Windows.
Under Mac the problem is in the drivers of the Nvidia boards. This driver is being developed by Apple (not Nvidia or us) and it's about 3 times slower when processing 4K than the ATI X1900 (Mac Pro).
Not much we can do about that. For serious work on a Mac I would advice someone to go with a 4 or 8-core Mac Pro system anyway. For these you can get the X1900 ATI card and you'll be fine.
If you must use a Macbook (Pro) that doesn't have an ATI use RED ALERT or the QuickTime codec for watching footage etc.
