For my DIT cart:
4-core
512gb
32GB
dual d700
It comes out to around $5000 for me which is fine considering how much power is contained in such a compact form. I'm excited about thunderbolt and all the i/o stuff that can be done. Allowing the internal pcie externally via TB allows great freedom to customize. The MacPro will grow with maturity and as second gen apple products are almost always better purchases in the long run, I'm not so interested in having the best possible workstation but more like a laptop on super steroids. Thunderbolt will hit 100GB/s bandwidth in a few years and the innovation that apple has obviously figured into this beautiful new mac will for sure have a profound effect on the integration between the camera and computer that was itself pioneered by the red one. All aspects of creative production have a powerful new tool to play with in their hands. It's about time.
