  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NEW GROUP BUY: MICROREMOTE WIRELESS FOLLOW FOCUS

Hm, my Paypal account has been restricted - didn't like the transaction at all. I thought it would be a 250 charge. Is Paypal not acceptable, does it have to be cc?

FYI

Hey Guys,

Since people is placing their orders now, I want to let people know that if you are planning on paying via Paypal, it does NOT have a pre-authorization system like all credit cards do, and it will automatically charge your account in full. There is nothing we can do about that on our end, as that is how Paypal handles all transactions. So personally I would highly suggest using a credit card and not paypal, unless you are okay with being charged in full (with discount of course) immediately.

We're always here to help guys, and this group buy is working out well for everyone. I'm super excited to start seeing all these microRemote's on your REDs:thumbsup:

Cheers,
Loren Simons

Brett,

The dumbass ANZ bank froze my Visa card and the transaction on suspicion of fraud. Not happy Jan. Sorted now after several frustrating phone callls to ANZ. FF now ordered and eagerly waiting. Might do a review of the Redrock system when it arrives for the FXGuide/ACS "Top Tech" blog.

Thanks Matt - I have sent a message to reapply via cc. I actually tried cc initially but it failed - perhaps because I'm outside the US.

Brett - same here... the Bank blocked the transaction twice... had to call them to unblock (whilst I had Andrew from RR on Livechat).

It'll be your Back/CC company blocking as they presume it's fraud.

PPal wil also end up costing more - so you probably dodged a bullet there (ie cross border fees, plus conversion rates plus fees if your PPal is linked to your CC)... I've found PPal sucks for international transactions.

Nice Tom, thanks for the heads up. NAB is equally touchy.

Let me take the chance to say thanks for your appearances on FXPHD, fxguide, the RC etc. I've been tuning in for years now - such a great set of resources.

The funds will not be extracted until the group buy ends. We still have to hit 50 to get the discount.

We are close now, but not quite there. If you're on the fence, now is the time to decide.

Just over 24 hours until this group buy expires.

Just read this thread today. I am very interested and will pay immediately. Thanks for putting this all together!

Warning...don't watch this cause you might be hypnotized into buying....look for the "gamechanger" quote.
Of course the Iphone/Ipod controller is still in the future...but it sure looks impressive.

So does that mean, if I order the collins clamp, it will include the microremote finger wheel controller? Or do I need to buy the microremote finger wheel controller 202.50 usd as extra add on plus this collins clamp?

The microremote is meant to fit in to 15mm or 19mm rods?

And lastly, the microremote wireless follow focus will work with all cameras? I hope we don't need to buy anything else to make it work for C300 (Canon) and F5 (Sony) cameras.

Brent,

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for pointing this out. When we did the changeover to the new fingerwheel build, the actual individual fingerwheel page was overlooked, as this bundle that includes the cable was the primary page we always used. I brought this to the web guys attention and he adjusted the standalone fingerwheel to reflect the proper price, $150.

The standard fingerwheel bundle can only be attached to our microHandGrips as shown here. You could of course always jerry-rig something up, but that's the exact reason we designed the universal fingerwhee bundlel (which is universal only because of the included Collins Clamp).

So in summary, there is only one fingerwheel controller, but there are two different mounting mechanisms. One that uses the Collins Clamp (The "Universal Bundle") and the other that uses a bracket to attach it to our grips.

Hope that helped clarify things and sorry about the confusion.

Cheers,

Hi Loren! The Red run/stop cable isn't already in the "cable" package for the group buy?

Thanks!

Mark,

It is not, but it can be added by contacting our orders team for I believe $95, but they can tell you for sure.

Sabyasachi,

The Collins Clamp is a standalone universal clamp, to add the universal fingerwheel to your wireless bundle, please get the Universal Fingerwheel Bundle with optional cable.

The microRemote now ships with a 19mm rod clamp and removable 15mm insert.

The microRemote will work on any camera, all you need is a rail to mount the motor on and a geared lens for the motor to interact with.

Just ordered.

Hey anyone have suggestions for a PowerTap splitter so I can power my SmallHD and microRemote at the same time?

Tehben,

I use our Universal PowerPack, which takes any 12v range power source in (like a D-Tap battery) and spits out two 12v regulated (or unregulated depending on how you cut the 3-Pin cable) and a single variable voltage output so you can dial in a specific output for powering anything from 5v-12v. I actually use mine to power my microRemote, smallHD, and Paralinx that requires 5v.

Loren,

the torque motor can be attached to 15mm and 19mm rods by default ?

I assume it can be easily removed and switched to the other side ?

Thanks.

- M

Correct on both accounts Mike. The drive gear can be swapped to either side quickly and tool-lessly.

Cheers,

Looks great but at the moment I need a less spendy option.
