  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New German Primes: Price below 10.000 per set.

Thales is NOT involved.

These lenses are ISCO which is owned by Schneider Group.

For the record ... I was told glass elements are made in Korea - not Germany.

I trust your information Mark but if this is true it sounds like Laguun has been lying to us as this is what he has told us so far:

a) 6 lens set for under 10,000 Euros
b) 100% German ( last time I checked Korea didn't count as German :) )
c) Household name ( ISCO is not even close to a house hold name)

well ... there are tons of rumors ... so Laguun may be 100% correct - just telling you what I heard from a very good source -

sorry if this is bit off topic, but since it is mentioned here earlier...

Poland>>>France is afraid of "flood" from Polish plumbers>>>

so to conclude that maybe somebody has got an idea to employ "Polish plumbers" in their homeland to make a cheap cine lenses :sifone: .

can you elaborate this for me. what is the purpose of above link and your comment? is this joke or just bad taste?

i think that this thread is about prime lenses, probably not for comment like this.
but of course, maybe i am wrong, so be kind and explain it for me, since i am living in poland, so maybe i do not understand all nuances...

thank you,

filip

I agree...

Sorry guys no any insults but that is how the press is coming in our life(s),

I'm not responsible for that and also I do not work and also I would not work for any sort of

"diplomacy" bull**t press because I do not simply trust to them....

That's simply I heard it here in Vienna and also I'm residing in the middle of all that MESS...

You now that movie from Coen Brothers' ...

"Burn after Reading" but is not placed in Washington, D.C. and instead of that it's just placed in Vienna, Austria,...
:sifone:

also at the end I feel do not responsibility about any sort of daily policies... and claim a standing the true

and only the true in any of my statements about anything here...

At the and it's no about any "national" ---ity.. or similar,

it's about (the) lenses we would like to get and use for our "cheap" and also a sort "rich" funded projects...

I don't know why but each time I open this threat the name Rodenstock is jumping up and down my head. To be clear, I know nothing, have no "well informed source" and don't want to keep anybody busy with this idea. I just wonder why this name never apears (or I only missed it, then sorry:)

Rodenstock

Rodenstock

Yes,

But Linos was mentioned. Rodenstock was acquired by Linos years ago.

Do you all really talk about same lenses?
Whatever, I will enjoy my beer and time will tell, NAB is near

felt to read price policies.. :couch:

Okay, time for a LITTLE clarity.

The lenses that Laguun first wrote about will be in the Abel booth along with other new lenses. The lenses that Laguun first wrote about are indeed completely manufactured in Germany. Many prices have been tossed about and there may still be some changes.

There are some other lenses coming out which have led to some confusion here. All will be a LOT clearer a week from now. I encourage all who can to stop by the Abel booth at NAB to check out lots of glass.

Interesting times.

Kaya, I don't know what housing you used so I cannot comment. And I don't think I'd want to until next week anyway. I'm sure you know what I mean.

I can confirm what Mitch posted here.
The lenses are 100% german made.
Optical quality is excellent, mechanics are robust and fine and survived already quite challenging shooting situations here (however the lenses do expand when focusing to have no breathing)
All the blabla about korean glass etc is exactly that: blabla
The lenses are built using German finest prime glass and German high-class mechanics and assembled by German top-end manufacturers.

The set is in the €€€€ range - and i have no idea how many lenses they will include. I recommended as many as possible, however i told them i would pay €€.€€€ for a set and they certainly will take both aspects into consideration.

What i can say clearly: There will be *no* shortage of fine *and* affordable 35mm PL lenses anymore within 2 months.
