A birdie whispered into my ear. These mystery primes are a collaberation between Linos (Germany) and Thales (France). But the lenses will be made in Poland. The optics are pretty good but the mechanics suck and need to be re-designed. There will be delays. I bet you a million dollars and 5 Epics on this info...
Don't go on current speculation for large purchases.
Dude. With all respect, you don't have much credibility left on this topic. I heard the Polish connection also and that the mechanics are just not very good. I hope that Linos is not trying to pull a fast one.

Besides Bjoern, Juergen and Konstantin no one has shot anything on none of the lenses.Jan, I talked to a "test pilot" of these lenses who knows what's going on but has signed an NDA and is afraid to have his name released. He is German and you know who he is.
Well Phil, no reason to be sorry. You are the most telling of this whole thing. You are the internet Champion of this program and your assessment is now "pretty good"? That is very interesting wording. You have been the one that said "more info in a few days". Not. Then "they are great". Now "they are pretty good". "They are better than UPs". Then they are "a bit softer than UPs".
Come on. Which is it? Are you getting your lenses for free? Sorry for being so direct.

Does Thales own Angenieux ? or is the corporate relationship more complex than that.

For all I know the red primes could be the best by a long way but until I can test them thoroughly or hear results on a detailed lens test from someone with chops like Matt Uhry I would not pass judgement on who is putting out the best set
By the way if some of the companies comming out with lenses are reading this please hear this "AN 18mm LENS IS A MUST FOR ANY COMPLETE PRIME SET"
