  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New FCP Studio rumors. All in one app. Entirely re-written, interface deeply modified

Apple will need that to be true. Right now FCP is eating Avid's dust

thats really funny considering apple has over 1 million purchased licences making it the widest used editing software on earth.

I'd take the adobe suite over Avid these days and I am a person who used the first version of AVID and EDITDROID before that.

avid still holds a lot of loyalty in the big post house world, and large hollywood production workflow. in combination of backwards compatibility in project versions, avid unity, and finishing capabilities with symphony nitris, ds nitris, and so on. the INGEST portion may not be as easy compared to FCP and Adobe, but the finishing aspect, and cummulative workflow is still rock solid.

Financially, sure. And we all know how small a % of that revenue comes from FCS don't we.

I'm saying if Apple wants to "lead" the desktop post (NLE/finishing) race in the near future ... they will really need to step up.

Obviously ... they don't need to if we are just talking stock market.

I think they really shot themselves in the foot when they stopped development on Shake and discontinued it without in so much stating their intentions. The loss of Shake *REALLY PISSED ME OFF* followed by the lackluster update to Final Cut Studio. AVID allowed Pro Tools and Media composer to flounder, and they lost ground, and now Apple is doing the same.
