but there must be a software from RED to atleast control the cameraYou have to write your custom software or get someone who know how to do so. These were built for a custom project that captured content for the SPHERE in Las Vegas prior to them developing their custom "Big Sky" camera that they use to gather content at present. At the time, they used 11 RED Helium and or Monstro cameras in a custom-built contraption to capture content for their project. It was considered cumbersome, which lead them to invent a single camera with a very large sensor.
Good luck.
These were custom cameras for a company that specialized in large scale stereo productions. Outside of the operating firmware on the cameras, they developed software in house. There's a few dozen of these from the auction that transpired. Interestingly the company didn't close, but rather "moved". I own a few the stereo rigs from the auction. Well built custom stuff.but there must be a software from RED to atleast control the camera
RED provides a Software Development Kit (SDK) for free of charge to anyone who knows "how to" or desire to develop their own custom hardware/software to control and/or operate RED cameras, at will. The SDK offers software hooks to implement operations within the RED camera architecture. It is up to hardware/software developers to write their own code to create a "User Interface" (UI) to implement whatever they intend to do with their RED hardware. Jarred specifically stated that, "If you were to purchase this camera hardware, you are on your own in developing software further on."but there must be a software from RED to atleast control the camera
