I know this has been discussed thoroughly on here but after reading Shane hurlbuts inner circle post on NDs he uses either the tiffen IRNDs or trueNDs (which are also IR). All the other post on here on the topic suggest that the dragon sensor doesn't (and isn't beneficial) or IRNDs and straight NDs are preferred. I have a slew of IRNDs from my BMCC kit I would like to use but am considering a variable straight ND. What do you guys suggest?

Phil, do you disagree with Hurlbut's recommendation to go with tiffen IRNDs or trueNDs?

Yes more or less, but that is mainly due filter variation and I know Shane didn't have a set of Firecrests on hand. I'm using what I'm using because I did these tests already and posted that stuff here on REDuser.

Thanks Phil, great thread you did on the topic! Did you by chance test out any screw on variable NDs?
I don't speak for Phil, but I was also searching for variable NDs recently.

After searching the boards for variable ND advice and PMing multiple users, my decision was going to be either Schneider True Match, Kenko or Tiffen (somebody told me he noticed even less color shift in Tiffen vs Schneider). I went with Schneider though. I haven't been able to test yet.
