  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NATURAL HISTORY CINEMATOGRAPHY

Thanks a lot guys! Really appreciatted. And Bud, glad you like it specially being an ornithologist (I love birds too). Great work you´re doing with raptors BTW!
Happy to see this forum gathers so interesting people. Cheers!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to update a bit the forum with this little piece on Kingfisher that I shot few months ago. I know that its already a very well documented subject but anyways here´s our take on it.Shot on the Epic. Hope you like it. Cheers!

Raven

Raven

I guess that noone has missed the announcement of Raven. To me it sounds like a bloody great camera! Perhaps especially for wildlife. That is unless of course you already have an Epic or something even more high end.

What do you guys think?

One of my Camera guys Gian Schachenmann took my Carbon Dragon to middle earth recently. This is for our new series Elemental Earth filming in the Congo last month.

Here is a short film I just put together in protest of the new Jan 2016 NOAA regulations on commercial and sport Shark hunting.
Thank you Frazier Nivens for bringing this issue to my attention.
If you have a way of spreading the word through your own social media- please share and post.

Thanks for watching

The segment I shot earlier this year for a BBC/PBS co-production will air soon. The series starts tomorrow (Christmas day) on BBC2 as World's Sneakiest Animals and will air in the U.S. as Natural Born Hustlers. My camerawork featuring Steller's Jays and the Red-shouldered Hawks they mimic will be in the January 20th episode of Natural Born Hustlers and the british version will have more of my footage from the redwoods, beaches and bluffs featuring Chris Packham.

After the heavy rains in December, the reed beds on the Humboldt County coast have flooded for the first time since March of 2014. It's created some great opportunities to get up close to animals that stay hidden for most of the year, especially American Bitterns. Soras, which I've never had the opportunity to catch on camera before, are coming out to feed around the edges of the reeds at dusk.

Hi All, just got back from my first dedicated filming trip to Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. The area has been hit hard by the drought, and the weather was not ideal, but I got lucky a few times and got some nice footage. Some grabs attached. All shot on the Sigma 300-800 (some with 1.4x teleconverter) on an Epic Dragon, LLO OLPF.

White Rhinos and Red-billed Oxpeckers.

Etosha

Etosha

Recently returned from 5 days filming in Etosha National Park (Namibia). Was my first field test of the Weapon Mg. I was shooting a lot in very harsh light, and I'm quite happy with the results. Really miss the side handle though - using the sidekick by feel is not easy.
