big, big thank you, carajo!!!!

[Troy Bakewell]

Freaking Awesome!

[Artino Ahmadi]

please tell me we can have 300 fps somewhere in there too...

[Jason Ano]

wow! definitely was not expecting a Scarlet Dragon.. can't wait for specs to start comparing options

[Brad McGiveron]

Very nice!

[Kevin Marshall]

Wow, did not expect option two. I think it's hard to argue with either choice, though.

[Jeff Lower]

Now that's awesome.

[fALk Gärtner]

Woooohhhhhh - now thats a tough decision to make my my my.

[Brian Boyer]

I knew I backed the right horse.

[Jaakko Rinne]

great news, so does that mean 4k@120 fps if you stick with scarlet dragon

I quick calculation using the framerates and resolutions of the Epic as a guide would get you something like 4k@75fps and 3K@100fps. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 6K@24fps.

Edit to add: looking at the Dragon specs, a Scarlet Dragon might even be able to do 6k@50fps.

[Troy Bakewell]

I knew I backed the right horse.

AMEN Brian!

[Eugene Martin]

totally awesome! wow! what a great family to be a member of!

[Kevin Marshall]

Also, obligatory question/clarification - after all of the upgrades are done, will there be a Scarlet Dragon offered in the Red Store to buy straight-off?

[Brandon J.F.]

I knew I backed the right horse.

Agreed!

[sam karr]

I didn't expect that. That is so awesome.

[Evan Falbaum]

In theory, I suppose there's technically a 3rd option to go ahead and do it all for $19,000? Just do both upgrades at once if going with #1.

So Scarlet-X can go to Epic-X Dragon for $19,000.

So you're ultimately getting a $5,000 discount to go all the way.

[Peter Majtan]

2 Simple Options.

#1. Upgrade your Scarlet to Full Epic-X (including new black body) - $9500. After that.. you can upgrade your Epic-X to Full Epic Dragon through the normal Epic-X to Dragon process.

#2. Upgrade your Scarlet to Scarlet Dragon - $9500 ( keep your grey body ) Get all the dynamic range and new color science of the Dragon with a max framerate of 5K 60fps. Full specs to come soon.

Pre-orders begin this Thursday. Upgrades begin July.

Thank You so much for listening...

#2 it is for me. It will be a great B-CAM for the Epic-M-Dragon I have just ordered... ;o)

What about max FPS for 6K? If it can do 24P - I am happy...

Thanks again!

P

[Carey Lee Coffey]

I would love to know what the Scarlet Dragon will cost new. $15k?

[Maik Müller]

All i can say is just "WOW" and "THANK YOU VERY MUCH". All those fantastic news today, you guys rock.
Wish you a great NAB!

[Nick Mahar]

Do we still get a Native ISO of 2000 if its Scarlet Dragon?
