If the RRX is less exposed than a RR, and is also REDs second generation card I am anticipating the RRX will survive longer than a RR.If you wish to see 24fps of 6k in real during your editing, TB2 will be fast enough to read from you storage with one port, and to send & to a RRX on another TB2 port. On the return leg from the RRX the TB2 can send upto 5k RGB & 24Hz @ 16bits a channel - ie absolutely fine for doing real time editing.For the Mac Pro - this would free up 12core + 2GPU to everything else - and hopefully not get in the way of real time experiments.In 2 years time - maybe we have a 35mm molybdenum sensor that does 8k that requires TB3 or a doubling up of TB2 ports ... even then, the RRX will still be fit for the job.AJ
