Rumor has it, there will be a Scarlet-X at NAB, wrapped in Snakeskin.... I hear it's Black mamba to be exact....

What rumors have you heard? anything else cool?

Fleetwood Mac

In a change of heart, Apple has decided to stay in the performance tower game and will be offering the next generation Mac Pro with 6 PCI-e 3.0 slots, 4 thunderbolt ports, USB 3, top of the line processors, and in a surprise twist they will be including FCP-X on all towers.

The new design features a more streamlined case which can conveniently be rack mounted.

There are a lot of other features which are not being made public, but Apple was simply shamed into making this tower by industry professionals who threatened to stop using iPhones, iPads, and Apple TV (actually most were never really using Apple TVs anyway). Also, Apple was a bit afraid that Hollywood might start putting PCs in any shots that have computers in them, and shows like The Office would never mention their products ever again. This is all hearsay of course. :-)

"Fleetwood Mac" is an anagram for "leet woodcam F"... F being the sixth letter of the alphabet... soooo... Leet Wooden Camera 6...

...I read you loud and clear, Graeme... loud and clear.

Finkle is Einhorn... The files are in the computer...

hehehe..awesome :)

Seriously speaking, and this is no rumor just speculation :) If a Sony FS700 exists, I'm sure its F3 equivalent counterpart will also show up in one form or another. Just like the vx 2000 and the PD 150 counterpart in the old days...

As for Red stuff, I sense new modules, firmware features and the projectors stealing the show. While I wish we would hear more about it, my gut tells me this is still not the Dragon sensor's time to take center stage.

Would be also interesting, with the appearance of the new Ipad, how much has the previous Ipad Red developed app could evolve with it... This is something of a wild guess but maybe this will come back more impressive than ever!

I had tested and used the Baselight plugin for FCP and was very impressed what Filmlight had managed to achieve with FCP foundation. Unfortunately, as we all know, FCP is done, so it was bittersweet.
Just today FilmLight announced the same Baselight plugin inside Avid MC6. For Red users this means editing native R3D in MC6 and doing color grading, Baselight style, all in one app. Now, I'm stoked!
Baselight Editions – Baselight is now available inside your editorial or VFX platform. Editions offer full interchange and reproduction of grading timeline data with the main Baselight suites.
We'll be showing Baselight Editions for Apple FCP 7 & The Foundry’s NUKE plus a preview of Baselight Editions for Avid’s Media Composer.

Baselight Edition for FCP 7 rocks!!!

APPLE have about 12 months before I tell them to suck off.....

I'm well over there non pro support attitude, really starting to annoy me.

I just jumped off a very HOONED up PC tower (on loan as a tester) with so much horse power that rendering a 1 minute render time in my 12core MAC in AE was almost down to 10 seconds in this PC Tower...

Even though I hate Windows as an operating system.. and the bugs that go with owning a PC, I'm almost about to jump.
+ Premier in this PC tower was like smooth as silk using R3D's at 4k.

There are so many things i'll be looking at NAB.. so many things. And APPLE are not on that list... unless they bring out some sort of wicked now tower.

See ya all there....

12 months is overly generous....

All I want to see is the new RED Rocket, RED Projector, new RED lenses and higher capacity SSD's with reduced price through out the whole range...
And yeah, new Mac Pro tower with Thunderbolt, new PowerBooks with NVIDIA graphics and it will not hurt if they also have USB3...
