NAB 2014 - SIDEWINDER

One of the most eagerly anticipated RED accessories for me :)

Come on guys, release it already

You know with RED, the longer it takes, the better it gets. Its like a good bottle of wine. ; )
Speaking of wine, it might have a bottle opener on it, you never know. Lol.

It's pathetic.

Was at the RED store yesterday, while I was in Cali (oh how I already miss Cali - damn Texas heat) and finally picked up my RED shirt but secretly hoped I could of gotten my hands on one of these while I was there... NOPE!

@Anthony I agree - I NEVER thought I'd be checking this site so much to see if a tool and bolts had begun shipping.

The wait is killing me

Still on for September as planned... Almost everythign shown at NAB was targeted for release in September remember.

These are custom bits in the tool so it is not as simple as one would imagine.. plus we added the flat head and the OLPF change bits in there, but we still are on track. The guys that came to the NY store opening received a special version :)

If only I had known...

Thank you very much

Fury

Not gonna lie, even without the flathead the special NAB version has been in my pocket nearly daily. Use it all the time.

Phil's always screwing someone!

I take my screwing around very seriously :)

Seriously though. I'm going to add two more of these to my kit when the final production version comes out with that fancy bolt case as well. One's going in my location bag.

Sounds like they are on track for next month. We'll see more of them walking around in no time :)

So glad to hear a flathead had been added, I might even order a second.

I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a set of torx screwdrivers :tongue_smilie:

I wonder when we will see the first stop motion with it... ;o)

anyone knows the rules about taking this in carry on? was in Albania in July and took the normal ones down there without a problem. on the way back Albanian security wanted to take them away from me but I got them to "let them pass this time"... never had problems with L shaped allen keys before :)

TSA looked at mine in my carry-on, but didn't grab it. Don't think it will be an issue even with the flat head.

I had a small set of allen keys confiscated flying back from Costa Rica about a year ago. I've never had a problem in the USA though.

looks like i need two sets, one in carry on and one in checked. i always want to have them with the camera if checked bag gets lost,... but then if they take it away at the x-ray i need to have one in checked bag :D

The only problem with these little guys is that they're one of those items that'll mysteriously wander off on their own ;)

I've been using my own version I posted about a couple of years back, and I've certainly had a little depletion of the stock hehe.

And that's without them looking as cool as Red's ...
