  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB 2014 - IMAX 6K 70mm projection is up

The 70mm IMAX projector is up and running in the booth showing our "CLOSED SET" car chase short film shot by Mitch Amundsen.

The short was shot on Dragon 6K cameras and scanned/printed by IMAX in full 6K and output to 15perf 70mm film. It is being projected on an IMAX 70mm projector on a 38' screen in our theater. Definitely a must see if you stop by.

For those that can't make it to the booth, here is a short little behind the scenes video the guys put together from opening day yesterday.

 
I would love to see this. Wish I was there. Will the short be online soon?

Aaargh! Why are shoots scheduled during NAB? Hate not being there too...

It's really impressive what you guys at Red has achieved, even though we always want more, there is no need to oversell anything any more, Red is synonymous with the upper high-end, and even the more sceptical of our colleagues has started to appreciate this... well done, and hope to see some Dragon footage printed on 70mm one day in Europe!
 
We will post the film downrezzed to 4K REDRAY format after the show is over and we can breath for REDRAY owners to download and play back.
 
If there's anything I want to see it's this! Dragon 6K to IMAX 15perf 70MM=AWESOME!!!
