  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Starting tomorrow, Carbon Mini-Mag side modules can now be ordered with all new Carbon Dragon orders. Expect to begin shipping by end of month.

Existing Carbon Dragon owners can also arrange to swap their 1.8" side modules.

We also have expanded our Magnesium mount options for Carbon Dragon owners to Leica, Nikon, Canon as well as the existing PL mount.

Mounts coming soon.

Yes, and Please and thank you

In Classic RED fashion it would be awesome to be able to buy a Carbon Side MINI SSD regardless of owning a Carbon Dragon or not.
If and when I am ready to pay for the MINI SSD, it would make a lot more sense to me to be able to purchase a carbon one )
Awesome looking and less weight, and the true beauty of RED modular

The carbon side ssd will not fit on an aluminum body and vice versa.

Not true at all. But due to a 'materials issue', the aluminum MINIMAG side module should not be used with the carbon fiber Dragon. It most definitely fits, and works, but RED does not recommend it.

Hi Chris & Keith,

That was my first question, for the RED team, on NAN Monday, and I was told, by Jared , that by the end of this month, the carbon fiber mini SSD module would ship. I have had my request for that gracious, free changeout that Jared allowed the Dragon CF purchasers to enjoy, since the mini was announced. So planning on it in a few weeks...

I have thought about having both SSD's, in CF, though, as the idea of 128's, for more common shooting parameters (now) would be handy, to save the rewrite of the same, smaller segment of the mini 512 mags, though.

There is now a disclaimer on the Red site about non CF mini SSD on CF bodies.
