  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MY SHORT FILM

simply beautiful. one of the best short films ive seen. great story, direction and pictures. Have you entered this into any of the major festivals?

Good film Nuka. I liked the B&W choice.

The actors playing "the family" were very good, I've seen your reel and it looks like the actor playing Daniel is in other projects. i liked how they performed, sober and thoughtful in a scifi/drama genre. The scene before the bad guys showed up in the supermarket was one of my favorites. The detail of Anna repeating everything his dad did was spot on.

Keep making films.

Guys, guys, guys, You are all too kind! :) I'm REALLY glad you like it - it means a lot coming from You lot! ;)

Well, if you ever want a couple, say for yourself or anyone, you could send me your project file and I could burn some for you!

I would love to see this on Blu Ray!

Anyways, hope you keep making movies man!

Thank you Michael! I'd also love to have a Blu Ray copy instead of the very "dull" DVD copy I have now. I'll remember that ;) Oh and believe me! I want to keep making movies - and I want as many as possible to see them! ;)

Thanks Amilcar! I'm glad you liked it! ;) The actor that you mention is KASPER LEISNER. I've worked with Kasper on a few projects now and I really love the guy! If you're interested, there's another short on my vimeo account called "CHANGE" - he's in it. I've also worked with Laura Drasbæk(ANNA) and Adam Brix(THUG) on a music video I did for The Raveonettes - you can also find that on the site if you're interested. Again, thanks! ;)

Hi Scott,

I wanted to, but shortly after we finished the film and the premier, I'd graduated and my baby daughter was born and that really then became my number one concern. My producer quickly went on to do other things, so nobody really maintained the interests of the film in that concern. It was a big shame really, because the film got us great reviews in the media and audiences were thrilled with it. I really regret that today - and I put all the blame on myself. But, I'm also happy that it's now available for anyone to enjoy :)

Eventually, we did end up in competition at Plus Camerimage last year(considered big amongst cinematographers), thanks to my cinematographer.

I'm sure we'll soon have to buy tickets to see your movies Nuka.
I look forward to it.

Nicely done Nuka. When my kids were born my life had to take a back seat as well. Enjoy the time you have with your family, it may sound like the ultimate cliche but it really goes by quickly. I don't expect someone with as much talent as you should concern yourself with a waning career in image making.

Thank you Peter. No cliché - that's just how it is I believe ;) It has been a priviledge to be there for my daughter. To watch her grow and to actually experience things that she says or does for the first time. Wouldn't miss that for anything in the world! :)

Anna.jpg

So I managed to find that sketch that I mentioned before. I'd done a drawing of the character, Anna. This was done very early on in the development process and she was the first character that I created. It doesn't look like much, but I had her all figured out in my mind. I had a very clear image of her. I got Laura (Drasbæk) commited to the film very early on and we actually spent a long time developing the character together, long before we shot any film. It was important that the character would work, or else the film would collapse. I was blessed with Laura's enthusiasm and that also made it way more fun to write the script. At that point I knew exactly who she was, what she would do and how she would do it. Creating characters is one of my absolute favorite things about filmmaking :)

Again, major thanks for the interest ;)

That was absolutely fantastic. Loved the feel of the film - i just felt odd watching a bmw in black and white hehe

Consider documenting your next project Nuka - creating and finding characters and all. If possible.
