Congratulation! Custom built Apple... that's new to me...

I'd think a hackintosh would be a lot of problems waiting to happen if you try to get a Kona, Redrocket, or RAID card working in it.

why western digital?

Is the price tag significant lower than comparable Mac Pro to justify potential risks, headaches, etc...???

This really needs an SSD, is this an EFI partitioned System?

Once you have an EFi Partition, and it is correctly configured there are no more Headaches, they become extremely reliable and highly configurable.

looks wicked but I always thought hackintosh's had the issue with updating drivers and what not later on, thats why Apple wouldn't support them because they'd have to then start writing this and that for a hackintosh and not just able to write one set of code for its whole line up...dunno maybe wrong...but it seemed like that with the prystar case going on...

If a System like this is EFi enabled, then updating drivers becomes as simple as going to the 'software update' as you would on a real mac. All Drivers are replaced with EFI Strings instead, inside the boot.plist. EFi is the best way to configure HackPro's for professional use, its not exactly simple to set up and configure. But once it is.... it's Rock solid and nearly identical to a MacPro, except that you can configure it to your every need.

I prefer PC Power and Cooling power supplies, they are expensive but the rock solid stability tthey bring is well worth it.

exactly..

its 3000 if anyone wants one let me know

Very nice! I was thinking about doing this as well... One you get it, please post reports of speed and stability when working with, processing and transcoding RED footage. That's an overclocked processor, right?
